Camaradas, hoy vamos a escuchar a una banda directo desde los balcanes, país antiquísimo! Electric Feat banda desde Grecia nos enviaron su material hace un año y justo apenas e irresponsablemente lo andamos calando y vaya sorpresa! aquí su servidor amante de sonidos viejos 70’s le encantó y como de costumbre hablará sobre sus traumas cuando el heavy rock es puro como este álbum y cuando es impuro y le ponen cosas de metal que no le gustan.., pero no le hagan caso que esta medio tarado, Pasemos a disfrutar de estas joyas que traen toda la maldita actitud para salir a emborracharse y vagar por las calles haciendo cosas indebidas…, y si ya eres un godinez, padre/madre de familia u otra cosa sin chiste, esto te prenderá, ríndele homenaje a este heavy rock estilo 70’s destapando una maldita cerveza helada para fantasear con este cuarteto tocando a raíz de piso en una soleada tarde de verano detrás de un stack sunn o marshall. Hermanos al escuchar este disco y darle play a la pirateada que le di en bandcamp lo primero que huele es heavy rock y… mucho, mucho alcohol y fiestas en pocas palabras, hiede a teporocho jaja. Podemos escuchar desde los primeros segundos de esta entrega el legado del grande Lemmy Kilmister al rock and rollear de esa manera con su rickenbacker y trazar el camino completo para el primer tema que abre este pestilente album (pestilente a la buena manera) pero, tocado en manos ni mas ni menos que de . La banda está conformada por Dionysis Nanos a la guitarra, Georgios Dimakis en la voz, Kostas Stergiou y Themos Ragousis,
It’s all Right es un tema para fiestear hermanos, una fiesta de podredumbre como las que estabamos acostumbrados en las bacannales del 2019 en donde nunca faltaba el accidentado, el que conseguía chicas o el bulleado por ponerse estúpido con una caguama. El estilo de nuestros compadres de Electric Feat es 100% 70’s, pero no del tradicional heavy rock si no un poco más para acá… 1976 tal vez, una banda clásica justo como el estilo del primer Motorhead, los Truth and Janey pero con menos testosterona y más drogas y una visión de una fiesta en la noche con gente vestida muy a los 70’s como si se tratase de la pelicula de los guerreros (mi favorita por cierto) de 1979. A veces hay muchas ganas de tirarse al carajo y decir… It’s all right!! justo como parafrasea nuestro compadre
Ese segundo tema que tal vez sea tributo al Rey Lagarto comienza con el mismo estilo que el mismísimo Jim Morrison hubiese cantado pero en ves de Lagarto, es una tremenda Lagartona que tan felices nos puede hacer con su tremenda experiencia. “Lizard Queen“. La historia de una chica que conoció e hizo de todo con ella. En la entrevista mencionan que rinden tributo a los mejores ritmos y riffs de los 70’s que para ellos son los más cabrones, y vaya que si, en un pedazo de Lizard Queen puedo escuchar a la grandiosa Michael Turner in Session, del clásico temazo en vivo en australia,,,… y para aderezar este temazo podemos escuchar como se desprende un mini-jam que seguramente en vivo reventaría esos amplificadores balbulares para jammear a gusto con un solo de guitarra interminable!, pero la version de estudio es sobria y debe mantenerse en el punto.
Unas pinceladas de Black Sabbath como se debe y aderezo de Judas Priest podemos escuchar en las guitarras duales en ornamentos de pocos segundos
Me provoca una sensación de volver a la juventud sin preocupaciones de los 20’s, la maldita responsabilidad por no querer ser un don nadie en la vida o por lo menos, sobrevivir un tiempo ha poseído mi cuerpo y mente, pero temas como Song Of Disobedience son soundtracks por excelencia para ser un maldito tunante de las calles y cualquier norma establecida, a nuestro estilo pero ir de aqui para allá como poseído tronando durísimo este gran tema de los Electric Feat. Unas pinceladas de Black Sabbath como se debe y aderezo de Judas Priest podemos escuchar en las guitarras duales en ornamentos de pocos segundos así como en los solos finales en donde se termina de manera dual, benditas guitarras gemelas!.
Ante todo esto y para algunos que me lleguen a leer me odiarán por que siempre menosprecio a los sonidos “heavy metal modernos” que abundan en el siglo XXI y me inclino más y beso los pies y brindamos juntos con tarros de cerveza para esas bandas que se despojan de lo moderno y el “metal” y logran pujar una forma pura de heavy rock rasposo, sin querer agradar a las audiencias metaleras ni complacer a esa gente de cabezas huecas, nuestros amigos de Electric Feat lo hacen jodidamente bien combinando psicodelia, proto metal, heavy rock 70’s, rock progresivo, la pestilencia a borracho de lemmy kilmister y otro tanto de juevntud valemadrista. El sonido Electric Feat es puro y por eso me agrada hermanos, no suena combinado con metal o con otra impureza desagradable al oído.
The Caveman es necesario regresar y adorar a los antiguos bluesman, nuestros amigos de Electric recorren a el blues en este tema y violentándolo lo tornan en un pesadillezco tema sabbathico
He hablado muchas veces sobre el abandono de las formas clásicas en busca de experimentación, pero para crear sonidos específicos como The Caveman es necesario regresar y adorar a los antiguos bluesman, nuestros amigos de Electric recorren a el blues en este tema y violentándolo lo tornan en un pesadillezco tema sabbathico pero sin perder el blues, justo como en el primer de Black Sabbath donde los “padres del heavy metal” aún apestan a blues y a hippie con sus tremendos jams, y que lástima para quienes odien a los hippies pues su adorada música de satanás de ahi viene cabezas huecas!. The caveman suena a un horrendo borrachin que nunca sale del bar a la orilla de la carretera, esas personas alcoholizadas hasta tal punto que logran sobrevivir años sin ninguna enfermedad hasta que a los 60 años de repente mueren sin mucho drama, creo que eso es en realidad vivir sin tantos rodeos.
Nunca les he dicho cuanto aprecio y me fascina el disco overkill de Motorhead? (ahi viene este guey de nuevo), el sonido que tiene Motorhead en ese disco de 1979 es la cúspide de Motorhead como power trio de heavy rock 70’s para después venderse miserablemene a un público heavy metal que ya venían poniendole la pata encima junto a un puñado de dólares, Para mi el ultimo disco bueno de Motorhead fue Bomber de 1982, después todo se fue al carajo, pero bandas como esta rescatan la escencia 70’s y patean por el culo al heavy metal, escuchen por ustedes mismos que majestuoso es esto sin la maldita pretención metalera que infecta a cualquier banducha de cuarta. Electric Feat se da el lujo de ornamentar sus partes tranquilas con una deliciosa guitarra sin distorsión como esa ultima seccion que da paso a un jam exquisito en el tema Leather Jacket, música de verdaderos motociclistas,.. y si no tenemos motos pues de tipos anónimos aplanacalles.

¿Que es lo que hace que me atrape esta música? diablos, escuchen las lineas de bajo de (malditasea olvidé preguntarles que instrumento toca cada integrante y en bandcamp no dice), bueno hay un intermedio de lineas de bajo a mitad de tema Subatomic Plane que no me lo esperaba y, a términos de tema… un swing de jazz, la bendita sincopa que ameritaba un extenso jam!, ¿por que no se aventaron el jam hermanos?, Otro detalle es la sencillez de sus temas, por ejemplo el riff que pudo haber sido ultrafamoso en Blackwood Secrecy, desearía se me hubiese ocurrido a mi! esto añadiéndole el tema “Son Of Evil” que viene pegado al anterior tema y un drum solo de :___ maldición olvide de nuevo los nombres, con ese tema “dum” que todos esperabamos, hermanos no todo es maldito atasque pero ahí tienen su banana. Ahora si saben inglés pueden leer las preguntas de cajón referente a la vida y obra de este cuarteto poderoso, si no usen el traductor que viene al principio de esta página.

SP. Brothers! your music smells like leather, partying with horny girls, fast hotrods and hot valve amps from late 70’s, how it was possible? could you describe your sound on your selftitled latest album for people that dont know your music?
Hello and thank you for having us! You’re quite right about the description of our music. We’re big fans of 70’s hard rock and proto heavy metal so the mood we were going for is all about primitive grooves, hanging out and rocking with sweaty friends.
SP – could you share with us the story of Electric Feat, are you with the same line up? why the name? and why playing with this raw 70’s sounds?
We were created in late 2017.The main drive was to create music that we love without overthinking it, based on 70’s heavy rock and proto metal sound. We quickly started writing songs and doing gigs in local venues in athens. The name was the product of 4 friends/band mates hanging out drinking beer and brainstorming about what we would like to be called, it felt as an achievement at the time thus the Electric Feat name. No line up changes in our short history and hopefully there won’t be any in the future.
SP – I could hear a lot of influences but, playing first two tracks I could tell you that the bass lines from maybe.. mr. Lemmy live on your sound and… the kind of singing and spelling of the lizard king, is this truth? What sounds, albums or bands are your best influence on this album?
The riff for “It’s Alright (with you)” was written by our guitarist Dionissis and he was definitely going for that Lemmy vibe. As I said before we re big fans of the late 60s and early 70s rock so the Doors are definitely an influence as are Alice Cooper Band, Blue Oyster Cult and of course Black Sabbath. We really like this muddy and scuzzy sound all those bands shared.
SP – I really like the fusion that you did, for example the “more relaxed jam” kind of jazzy sounds on the third song or the melodic passages on the “leahter jacket theme”, how was composing for this selftitled album?
Some songs are the product of jams in the studio , some our ideas, riffs, melodies that one of us brought in a session and we all worked together on and some are already 90% ready songs, but every member gives he’s own perspective and in the end, it is a collaborative effort and product.
SP – who help you with recording this? did you release some physical stuff from this album?
Recordings happened in early 2019 and were done by our friend Sergios Voudris in his studio Diskex Records. Same goes with mixing and producing the album. Mastering was done by Athens Mastering Studios. Then it was released in February 2020 in vinyl by Inner Ear. They all did an amazing work and we’re really happy with how it turned out.
SP – it seems that a month later the release of your debut full lenght album,… covid shit over the world, you played this new album live? how was the reception from people?
Well we were really unlucky in this, basically all of the world went into a halt. That was no different for Greece, we did not even had the chance to do a release show. We had played the songs from the album in various events the last 2 years and the reception was pretty good, we wanted the album to have a live feeling, hopefully we achieved it.
SP – did you play on other countries outside Greece? How is the heavy rock/psychedelic/stoner music scene on your country? is there any other band that you could recommend to us?
Right after the release of our record the pandemic hit Europe so not only we haven’t been able to tour but not even do a release show. We were really unlucky on this front but let’s hope it won’t happen again soon. The heavy and psychedelic scenes in Greece are really going strong despite the economic crisis and the pandemic that followed. We can definatelly recommend new bands like BUS the unknown secretary, Plasmawine, HEX, Chickn, Dury Dave and many others.
SP – what do you think on new psychedelic/heavy rock stoner bands? there are good sounds? or they lost the spirit of true hippies heavy rockers from 70’s?
Psychedelic music has been producing great bands since the late 60s and has never really stopped. Even in the 80s and 90s when it lost the spotlight there are amazing examples of acid rock bands and heavy psychedelic records. The last 10 years there has been a new revival with a lot of great bands from
around the world producing amazing sounds.
SP – how are covid in your country, is there a light for open air shows? what are post covid future plans for Electric Feat? a new album?
Covid has been awful for Greece and for musicians and live shows especially. Many DIY places have stopped working and the bigger venues have only done very few streaming events. We really hope that by summer it gets better and we can get on stage again. Before the pandemic we were working on new songs and not playing live has helped us focus on writing more new songs. So when this is over expect a lot of coll stuff.

12 songs that influenced our sound, hm this is a tricky one, every one in the group will probably have a different list, but let’s give it a try

SP – what albums are you listening lately? could you share some to us?
We’ve been revisiting rock n roll roots so a lot of Rolling Stones. Kinks and Hawkwind for us. As for newer albums we all enjoyed last years Sleepwulf and Kryptograf records and we bought the new Kabbalah record as soon as it was released. Also White Wizard’s Dealers of Divinity was an amazing record for 2020.
